Our story

A little coffee shop with a big welcome.

Hopper opened in December 2023 in a small Rodney Road shopfront that used to be a hairdresser and then a flower shop. Today it's Backwell's neighbourhood coffee bar — plants, fairy lights, and a slow morning rhythm.

Built for the village.

We wanted somewhere the whole community could feel at home. The school-run crowd, the dog-walkers heading back from the lake, the laptop-and-flat-white locals, the friends catching up — there's a corner for everyone.

Coffee taken seriously.

We pour Clifton Coffee Roasters through a careful setup, with proper oat options and a soft spot for a really good iced latte. Cakes are made locally, with vegan and gluten-free always on the counter.

Family-run

Locally owned and run with care.

Dog friendly

Water bowls on the house, biscuits if you ask nicely.

Kids welcome

A dedicated family corner with books, drawing things and toys.
